The BK 164-604 is a 3/4-inch Schedule 80 PVC union designed for solvent-weld connections in pressure piping systems. Built from heavy-duty Schedule 80 gray PVC, it provides greater wall thickness and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The union allows piping runs to be broken and reassembled without cutting, making it a practical choice for equipment isolation points such as pumps, filters, water treatment systems, and chemical feed lines. It is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in both residential and light commercial applications.
This union is suited for cold and hot water distribution, irrigation headers, pool and spa plumbing, and industrial process lines where PVC is an approved material. The solvent-weld end connections are sized to the Schedule 40 outside diameter standard, which is the industry-standard OD for both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC pipe. This allows it to transition directly onto Schedule 40 pipe where Schedule 80 fittings are required for added strength at connection points.
Solvent welds to Schedule 40 outside diameter PVC pipe in 3/4-inch nominal size. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC pressure piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes including the IPC and IFGC where PVC pressure piping is permitted. Depressurize and drain the line before cutting in or replacing the union. Use only PVC-rated solvent cement and primer appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not exceed the fitting pressure rating for the operating temperature of the system.
