The BK 164-134HC is a 3/4 inch FIP x FIP threaded PVC union built to Schedule 80 specifications. It is designed for joining and disconnecting sections of PVC piping in pressurized water systems without cutting or solvent cementing the line. The union body is constructed from heavy-duty white Schedule 80 PVC and seals with an EPDM O-ring. It is rated at 150 psi at 73 degrees F with a maximum service temperature of 150 degrees F. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, and chemical handling applications.
This union is suited for use in systems where maintenance access or future disconnection of a pipe run is required. The FIP x FIP threaded connection makes it compatible with both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC pipe. Threaded ends conform to ANSI B1.20.1 standards. Typical installation scenarios include water treatment systems, pool and spa equipment plumbing, and general industrial piping where PVC is the specified material.
Compatible with both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC pipe systems using 3/4 inch female iron pipe threaded connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or installing the union. Use appropriate thread sealant rated for PVC and the fluid being conveyed. Do not overtighten threaded PVC fittings, as Schedule 80 material is more resistant to cracking than Schedule 40 but can still be damaged by excessive torque applied with power tools.
