The BK 162-104 is a 3/4-inch plastic compression PEX tee fitting with a female iron pipe (FIP) outlet on the compression run. It connects PEX tubing to threaded pipe systems using a compression fitting design that requires no soldering or crimping tools. The body is plastic construction, keeping the fitting lightweight and corrosion-resistant for cold water service. Plumbers and pipe fitters use this tee to transition between PEX supply lines and iron pipe or PVC pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. At 0.402 pounds, it is easy to handle in tight rough-in locations.
This fitting is suited for cold water distribution systems where PEX tubing meets a threaded pipe branch or run. It is compatible with Schedule 40 cold water iron pipe and Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Typical installations include residential water supply rough-ins, under-sink connections, and retrofit plumbing work where PEX is tied into an existing iron or PVC cold water line. The FIP outlet allows a direct threaded connection to standard pipe fittings without additional adapters.
Designed for use with Schedule 40 cold water iron pipe and Schedule 40 PVC pipe in PEX compression tee applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. Ensure PEX tubing ends are cut clean and square before seating them into the compression fitting. This fitting is rated for cold water service only — do not use on hot water lines or steam systems.
