The BK 109-204 is a self-closing barrel faucet designed for controlled dispensing of petroleum-based fluids from drums and barrels. The spring-loaded, self-closing handle mechanism automatically shuts off flow when released, reducing spills and waste during transfer operations. The faucet is constructed from Zamac, a zinc-based alloy suited for hydrocarbon fluid contact. The inlet is a 3/4 inch male pipe thread conforming to ANSI B2.1. A dedicated locking hole in the handle allows the faucet to be secured in the closed position when not in use. Plumbers, fuel service technicians, and industrial maintenance trades commonly install this type of fitting on bulk storage drums.
This barrel faucet is intended for use with petroleum products including oils, fuels, and lubricants dispensed from standard drum or barrel bungs. It is not suitable for use with detergents, water, or trichlorethylene. Typical installations include oil drums, solvent drums, and fuel storage containers in fleet shops, industrial maintenance facilities, and agricultural operations. The 3/4 inch NPT male inlet threads directly into a standard drum bung fitting.
Designed for use with all petroleum products except trichlorethylene. Compatible with standard 3/4 inch female NPT drum bung fittings. Not intended for water service or detergent-based fluids.
Installation is typically performed by plumbers or maintenance technicians familiar with fluid transfer equipment. Drain and depressurize the drum or container before installing or removing the faucet. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for petroleum service to the male NPT threads before installation. Do not use this faucet on water lines or with cleaning agents, as material compatibility is limited to hydrocarbon-based fluids.
