The BK 103-053HN is a quarter-turn brass hose bibb from the ProLine Quartermaster Series, designed for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a reliable shutoff at an outdoor or utility faucet connection is required. It features a chrome-plated brass ball and PTFE seats, providing a full shutoff with a 90-degree handle turn. The unit is rated for a maximum working pressure of 125 psi and meets ANSI/NSF 61.9 requirements for drinking water system components. The 1/2 inch MIP inlet connects to standard threaded pipe, while the 3/4 inch male hose thread outlet accepts a standard garden hose fitting. Licensed plumbers and experienced tradespeople handle the typical installation.
The 103-053HN is suited for residential potable water systems, irrigation supply lines, utility sinks, and outdoor hose connections. The MIP inlet threads comply with ANSI B1.20.1, and the hose-end threads comply with ANSI B1.20.7, ensuring proper fit with standard pipe and hose fittings. The quarter-turn ball mechanism makes it a practical replacement for aging gate-style bibs where faster shutoff operation is preferred. It ships as a single unit and is intended for above-grade or in-wall rough plumbing where a threaded connection is already present.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement hose bibb for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 1/2 inch MIP threaded pipe supply connections and 3/4 inch male hose thread outlets.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in compliance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing the existing bibb. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to MIP threads per manufacturer practice before making up the connection. Do not exceed the rated 125 psi working pressure, and do not use this fitting in steam or high-temperature applications beyond the limits of brass construction.
