The BK 102-334HC is a loose key hose bibb valve designed for water or oil service. It connects via a 3/4-inch male iron pipe (MIP) inlet to a 3/4-inch male hose thread outlet. The removable key is the defining feature: when the key is not inserted, the valve cannot be operated, making it well suited for locations where unauthorized or unsupervised water use is a concern. A neoprene seal washer provides a reliable shutoff. Pipe threads conform to ANSI B1.20.1 and hose threads conform to ANSI B1.20.7. This valve meets NSF 61-9 low-lead standards. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in commercial and light industrial applications.
This hose bibb is used in applications where access control to a hose outlet is required. Typical installations include exterior walls of commercial buildings, mechanical rooms, utility areas, and any location where water draw needs to be restricted to authorized personnel. The 3/4-inch MIP inlet threads directly into standard pipe fittings or valves. The 3/4-inch male hose thread outlet accepts a standard garden or utility hose connection. Its compatibility with oil in addition to water expands its use into light industrial service points.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation hose bibb for standard 3/4-inch MIP pipe connections in residential, commercial, and light industrial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before threading the valve into place. Use thread sealant tape or pipe compound on the MIP threads to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not overtighten; use a pipe wrench on the valve body flats rather than the key operator.
