The BINARY B-660-EXT-444-40 is an HDBaseT HDMI extender designed to transmit high-definition audio and video signals over long cable runs beyond the range of standard HDMI. It includes IR pass-through and RS-232 control support, making it suitable for AV integration in commercial and residential installations. This type of extender is typically installed by low-voltage AV technicians and systems integrators who need to route HDMI signals to displays located in separate rooms or zones without signal degradation.
The B-660-EXT-444-40 fits residential and light commercial AV distribution scenarios where source equipment and displays are separated by distances that exceed standard HDMI cable limits. It is well suited for conference rooms, digital signage installations, and home theater systems where centralized AV sources need to feed remote displays. IR and RS-232 control capability allows technicians to pass remote control and serial commands back through the same structured cabling infrastructure used for the video signal.
Designed as an OEM-style HDBaseT HDMI extender for use in structured-cabling AV distribution systems requiring IR and RS-232 control pass-through.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage AV technician in accordance with applicable local codes and ANSI/TIA cabling standards. Power down all connected source and display equipment before making connections. Use properly rated Cat 5e or better twisted-pair cable for the HDBaseT link, and observe maximum run-length limits for the installed cable category. Do not route low-voltage AV cabling in the same conduit as line-voltage wiring without appropriate separation.
