The BINARY B-660-EXT-444-100A is an HDBaseT extender designed to transmit HDMI signals over long distances using a single structured Cat cable. It includes IR passback and RS-232 serial control, making it suitable for AV system installations where both signal extension and remote device control are required. The unit is sold individually and is intended for installation by AV integrators, low-voltage technicians, and electricians working on residential or commercial AV distribution systems.
This extender is used in applications where HDMI sources such as media players, Blu-ray decks, or cable boxes need to feed displays located beyond the practical range of a standard HDMI cable run. The IR and RS-232 control ports allow installers to pass remote control signals and serial commands back to the source location, enabling full system control from the display end. It is suited for conference rooms, classrooms, digital signage installations, and home theater setups.
Designed as an HDBaseT extender for use in residential and commercial HDMI distribution systems requiring IR and RS-232 control pass-through over structured cabling.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or AV integrator familiar with structured cabling and HDMI distribution systems. Power down all source and display equipment before making connections. Follow TIA-568 standards for Cat cable termination to ensure signal integrity over the full cable run. Do not exceed the specified cable distance rating for the extender.
