The BEST 9K37R15DS3626 is a 9K Series classroom lever lockset designed for institutional and commercial door hardware applications. It features a 2-3/4 inch backset, a 15-style lever trim with a D rose, and a 7-pin interchangeable core (IC) prep. The unit ships less core, meaning the appropriate BEST IC cylinder must be ordered and installed separately. A satin chrome finish (626) gives the hardware a clean, professional appearance suited to educational and institutional environments. An ANSI-standard strike is included. Licensed locksmiths and institutional facility technicians are the typical installers.
This lockset is built for classroom security functions, where the lever is always free from the inside for egress while the outside lever is locked or unlocked by key or thumbturn depending on the configuration. It is commonly specified in K-12 schools, universities, healthcare facilities, and other institutional buildings requiring access control with masterkey or grand-masterkey compatibility. The 9K Series interchangeable core architecture supports BEST masterkey systems, allowing facilities management to rekey doors without removing the lockset body.
Designed for use with BEST 9K Series interchangeable core cylinders in commercial and institutional door hardware installations requiring a classroom security function and a 2-3/4 inch backset.
Installation should be performed by a licensed locksmith or qualified facilities technician familiar with commercial door hardware and interchangeable core systems. Ensure the door is properly prepped for a 2-3/4 inch backset before installation. The IC core must be inserted using the appropriate control key — never force a core into the plug without the control key. Verify compliance with applicable building and life-safety codes, including egress requirements under the applicable fire code, before placing the lockset into service.
