The BESSEY WMS-6 is a magnetic welding fabrication square designed to hold ferrous workpieces at precise angles during welding, tacking, and metal fabrication tasks. With an average pull force of 35 pounds, it provides reliable magnetic clamping without external clamps or fixtures. The square measures 4 inches wide, 9/16 inches deep, and 2-1/2 inches high, making it compact enough for use in tight setups. It supports five preset angles: 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 degrees. Welders, fabricators, and metalworkers use it to maintain consistent joint angles across repetitive weld setups.
This magnetic square is suited for light to medium metal fabrication work in shop and field environments. It is commonly used when tacking steel tube frames, angle iron assemblies, and sheet metal joints where a free hand is needed to control the torch or electrode. The compact profile allows multiple squares to be positioned simultaneously on a single weldment. It is appropriate for both professional welding shops and trade apprentices learning layout and tack-weld techniques.
Designed for use with ferrous metals in standard welding and metal fabrication applications. Magnetic clamping is not effective on non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, copper, or stainless steel with low magnetic permeability.
Position the magnetic square against clean, flat ferrous surfaces for maximum pull force. Remove weld spatter and mill scale from contact areas before applying the square to ensure full magnetic contact. Always demagnetize or remove the square before running a full weld bead if arc blow is a concern. No tools are required for placement or removal.
