The BESSEY ms-1 is a pen-sized, telescoping magnetic stick designed for retrieving ferrous fasteners, dropped tools, and metal debris in tight or hard-to-reach spaces. Built around a rare earth magnet head with a 1/4-inch diameter, the ms-1 collapses to just 5.5 inches for pocket carry and extends to 25.5 inches for reaching into equipment cavities, conduit runs, drain channels, or behind panels. The shaft and handle are aluminum with a rigid, straight profile. HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance pros keep this tool on hand for retrieving screws, nuts, and small metal parts without disassembly or secondary tools.
The ms-1 is suited for residential and light commercial service work across trades. It fits a shirt or chest pocket when collapsed, making it practical on ladders, in crawlspaces, or at elevated work heights where dropping small fasteners is a constant issue. The telescoping aluminum shaft allows single-hand operation and reaches across equipment interiors that standard fixed-length pickups cannot access.
General-purpose telescoping magnetic pickup tool suitable for use across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical service applications wherever retrieval of small ferrous parts is required.
No installation is required for this hand tool. Before use near energized components, verify that the work area is de-energized per applicable NFPA 70E electrical safety procedures. Keep the magnet head away from magnetic media, electronic sensors, and variable-frequency drive components, as rare earth magnets can affect sensitive equipment. Extend and retract the shaft smoothly to avoid bending the telescoping sections.
