The BESSEY 4800J-20 is a heavy-duty sliding arm bar clamp built for professional fabrication, woodworking, and metalworking applications. It delivers 4,880 pounds of clamping pressure through a forged steel T-handle and a high carbon steel spindle measuring 0.85 inches in diameter. The electrogalvanized steel frame resists corrosion in shop environments. The sliding arm design allows fast jaw positioning across a 20-inch maximum capacity range, while the 7-inch throat depth accommodates thick or layered workpieces. This clamp is part of the Series 4800J lineup and is intended for use by trade professionals and skilled fabricators who require repeatable, high-force clamping.
The 4800J-20 is suited for step-over clamping scenarios where standard bar clamps cannot reach the workpiece. A 20-inch rail length and 7-inch throat depth make it effective for laminating panels, securing weldments, and holding stock during machining operations. The heavy-duty steel pads distribute load evenly across the contact surface, reducing workpiece damage under high pressure. The clamp ships with a standard swivel pad or MorPad, giving the installer flexibility depending on the surface geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style fit within the BESSEY Series 4800J sliding arm bar clamp family. Swivel pads and MorPads from the 4800J series are compatible accessories.
This clamp is installed and operated by machinists, fabricators, and woodworking professionals. Before applying clamping pressure, verify that the workpiece and supporting surface can withstand the force output of up to 4,880 pounds. Inspect the rail and sliding arm for debris or damage before each use. Do not exceed the rated capacity, and ensure the swivel pad is properly seated before tightening the spindle.
