The BERNZOMATIC 361496 is a trigger-start max power hose kit designed for brazing, silver soldering, and soft soldering applications in plumbing and HVAC work. The kit operates on MAP-Pro or propylene fuel and includes a swirl flame tip that concentrates heat for efficient heat transfer at the joint. Maximum soft solder capacity is 1.5 inches and maximum silver solder capacity is 1.625 inches. The flexible hose and fuel holster allow the cylinder to be positioned away from the work area, giving the technician better torch angle control in tight spaces. This is a 3-piece kit weighing 1.5 pounds.
This kit is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant line brazing, and woodworking applications where a high-output swirl flame is needed. The flexible hose design is particularly useful when working in confined spaces such as mechanical chases, under sinks, or inside equipment cabinets where a direct-attach torch would be awkward to maneuver. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary users, though experienced tradespeople performing copper pipe work will find the swirl flame tip appropriate for ACR and Type L or K copper.
Designed for use with propylene fuel cylinders in brazing and soldering applications including copper pipe joining in plumbing and HVAC refrigerant line work, as well as woodworking heat applications.
This torch kit should be used by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with open-flame soldering and brazing procedures. Before use, ensure all nearby flammable materials are protected or removed, and that water supply lines are fully drained and depressurized prior to heating. Follow all applicable codes including IPC and IFGC guidelines for torch use in occupied structures. Always shut off the fuel valve and allow the tip to cool completely before storing or transporting the kit.
