The BELL GOSSETT BG 110196LF is a lead-free, low-pressure reducing valve designed for hydronic heating systems in residential and light commercial buildings. Built from brass, it features a factory-set pressure point of 12 psig, a built-in low inlet pressure check valve, and a removable strainer for easy field service. The 3/4-inch FNPT x FNPT connections suit standard piping configurations. Operating range runs from 10 psig minimum to 25 psig maximum, and the valve is rated for temperatures up to 225 degrees F. It meets lead-free requirements for potable and heating system applications where compliant materials are required.
This valve is intended for hydronic heating applications in buildings with a maximum of three floors. It reduces supply pressure to a safe, consistent level at the fill connection of a closed-loop heating system. The removable strainer protects downstream components from debris during initial fill and ongoing operation. Typical installation is at the cold-water makeup connection feeding a hot water heating system, where maintaining a steady low fill pressure is critical to system performance and safety.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pressure reducing valve for residential and light commercial hydronic heating systems of up to three floors.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or hydronic heating technician in accordance with local mechanical and plumbing codes. Shut off the cold-water supply and depressurize the system before making connections. Use thread sealant rated for heating system service on all FNPT joints. Inspect and clean the removable strainer after initial system fill to clear any installation debris.
