The BELIMO GKX24-MFT is an electronic fail-safe damper actuator rated at 360 inch-pounds of torque and designed for modulating control of HVAC dampers in commercial and industrial air handling systems. It operates on a 24 VAC or 24 VDC power supply and draws up to 21 VA. The GKX24-MFT accepts an analog MFT (Multi-Function Technology) control signal, allowing field-configurable input and output ranges to match a wide variety of building automation and direct digital control systems. Licensed HVAC controls technicians and mechanical contractors are the typical installers for this class of actuator.
This actuator is suited for medium to large commercial damper applications where precise modulating control and fail-safe operation are required. Typical installations include variable air volume systems, outside air dampers, mixed air plenums, and economizer assemblies in rooftop units and air handling units. The electronic fail-safe mechanism drives the actuator to a predetermined safe position on loss of power, which is a common requirement in smoke control, pressurization, and energy management applications. The NEMA 2 and IP54 enclosure ratings make it appropriate for installation in mechanical rooms and above-ceiling environments subject to dripping water or moderate dust.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation actuator for commercial HVAC damper assemblies requiring modulating analog control with electronic fail-safe functionality at 24 volts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC controls technician or journeyman mechanic familiar with low-voltage wiring and building automation systems. De-energize the control panel and disconnect power to the actuator circuit before mounting or wiring. Verify damper shaft size and actuator mounting bracket compatibility before installation. All low-voltage wiring must comply with applicable NEC requirements for Class 2 circuits.
