The BELIMO AMX24-3 is a non-spring return damper actuator rated at 180 in-lb of torque, designed for direct-coupled installation on HVAC damper shafts in commercial and residential air handling applications. It operates on a 24 VAC or 24 VDC power supply and accepts two-position or floating point control signals, making it compatible with a wide range of building automation and zone control systems. The unit draws 5.5 VA and carries an NEMA 2 and IP54 enclosure rating, providing adequate protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water spray in mechanical room and air handling unit environments. Licensed HVAC technicians and controls contractors are the typical installers.
The AMX24-3 is suited for use in commercial HVAC systems where modulating or on/off damper control is required. It fits zone dampers, mixed air dampers, and exhaust or return air dampers in rooftop units, air handling units, and fan coil applications. Its non-spring return design means the actuator holds its last position on power loss rather than returning to a fail-safe open or closed position, which should be considered during system design. The floating point control input allows simple integration with low-voltage thermostats and DDC controllers.
Designed as an OEM-style direct-couple replacement actuator for HVAC damper assemblies requiring a 180 in-lb non-spring return actuator with 24V on/off or floating point control input.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or controls contractor familiar with low-voltage wiring and building automation systems. Disconnect and lock out all power to the air handling unit and control panel before mounting or wiring the actuator. Verify damper shaft diameter and clamp compatibility before securing the direct-couple linkage. Wiring must comply with NEC requirements for low-voltage Class 2 circuits.
