The BELDEN INC. TU1LG048RN2N is a tight-buffered multimode fiber optic cable rated for indoor riser (OFNR) installations. Built to OM1 specifications, this 48-fiber cable uses a CPE outer jacket designed to meet riser flame-spread requirements per NEC Article 770. It is intended for structured cabling runs between floors and telecommunications rooms in commercial buildings. Licensed low-voltage cabling contractors and telecom installers are the typical trade installing this cable. The 48-fiber count makes it well suited for high-density backbone runs where a single cable pull must serve multiple zones or equipment rooms.
This cable is used in indoor vertical riser pathways connecting telecom closets, equipment rooms, and main distribution areas in commercial and institutional buildings. The OM1 multimode designation supports 62.5-micron core fiber, which is compatible with LED-based transceivers and legacy multimode active equipment. It is appropriate for horizontal or vertical backbone segments where an OFNR-rated cable is required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Designed as an OEM-style riser fiber optic cable for use in indoor multimode backbone cabling systems requiring an OFNR-rated, OM1 48-fiber solution.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or datacom cabling contractor familiar with NEC Article 770 requirements for optical fiber riser cables. De-energize any adjacent electrical systems before working in cable trays or conduit runs. Observe the cable's minimum bend radius during pulling to avoid microbend losses or fiber damage. Terminate and test each fiber with appropriate multimode test equipment following TIA-568 or the applicable standard required by the project specification.
