The BELDEN INC. FD4L072RG is a loose tube OM4 multimode fiber optic cable rated for riser (OFNR) installations. This cable houses 72 individual optical fibers within a loose tube construction, providing reliable protection against environmental stress and physical damage. OM4 multimode glass fiber supports high-bandwidth applications including 10G, 40G, and 100G data transmission over appropriate distances. Licensed low-voltage and voice-data-video (VDV) technicians, as well as structured cabling professionals, are the primary installers for this type of cable.
This cable is suited for indoor riser pathways — vertical runs between floors in commercial buildings, data centers, and institutional facilities. The OFNR flame rating meets the requirements for installation in riser spaces without the need for conduit in most jurisdictions. Loose tube construction makes it appropriate for longer backbone runs where fiber protection and ease of mid-span access are priorities. It is sold as a single unit (EA) and is typically pulled through j-hooks, cable trays, or conduit on riser routes.
Designed for use in indoor riser backbone cabling systems requiring OM4 multimode fiber. Compatible with LC, SC, ST, and MTP/MPO OM4-rated connector hardware and patch panels when terminated by a qualified technician.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage or structured cabling technician in accordance with ANSI/TIA-568 standards and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out any active equipment in the pathway before pulling cable. Observe the manufacturer minimum bend radius during pulling and final dress to avoid fiber damage. Terminate and test with an optical loss test set (OLTS) per TIA-526 before turning over to the end user.
