The BELDEN INC. FD4D024L9 is an OM4 multimode fiber distribution cable configured with 24 fibers in a tight-buffered design. Distribution-style fiber cables are built for indoor backbone and horizontal runs where individual fibers need to be accessible and terminated directly without breakout assemblies. The FD4D024L9 is suited for high-bandwidth structured cabling environments where OM4 performance is required. Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage cabling contractors and data communications technicians working within commercial and industrial facilities.
This cable is intended for indoor fiber optic distribution runs in commercial buildings, data centers, and campus backbone applications. The 24-fiber count makes it well matched to high-density patch panels and fiber distribution hubs where multiple links are consolidated into a single cable run. The OM4 fiber type supports 10 Gigabit, 40 Gigabit, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet applications at appropriate distances per IEEE standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard installation cable for indoor OM4 multimode fiber distribution systems requiring a 24-fiber tight-buffered configuration.
Installation should be performed by qualified low-voltage cabling technicians following TIA-568 and BICSI guidelines. Observe minimum bend radius requirements throughout the routing path and avoid exceeding the cable tensile load rating during pulls. All fiber ends must be properly cleaved and polished or field-terminated with appropriate connectors before testing with an optical power meter or OTDR. De-energize any active equipment connected to the fiber path before performing terminations or splicing work.
