The BELDEN INC. CAF1205050 is a CAT6 patch cable wired to the T568A standard, rated CMR (Communications Multipurpose Cable, Riser) for use in riser-rated building environments. At 50 feet in length, it is suited for structured wiring runs between network equipment, patch panels, and data outlets in commercial and light-industrial settings. The CMR rating meets NEC Article 800 requirements for installation in vertical runs between floors without conduit. This cable is sold as a single unit and is a staple pull for low-voltage installers, voice-data-video (VDV) technicians, and network infrastructure contractors.
This patch cable is applied in riser applications within commercial buildings, multi-tenant facilities, and institutional environments where plenum-rated cable is not required but open vertical runs are present. It is appropriate for horizontal and vertical backbone cabling segments connecting wiring closets, server rooms, and telecommunications rooms. The 50-foot length addresses medium-distance runs that exceed typical patch panel-to-device connections and suits rack-to-rack or floor-to-floor tie cables.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-installation patch cable for CAT6 and CAT6E structured cabling systems using T568A termination in riser-rated environments.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or VDV technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and applicable local codes. Power down or de-energize connected network equipment before making or breaking cable connections at patch panels or switches. Avoid sharp bends below the cable minimum bend radius and do not staple or crush the jacket during routing, as either can degrade CAT6 signal integrity. Riser-rated cable must not be substituted for plenum-rated cable in air-handling spaces.
