The BELDEN INC. 88760 002100 is a 2-conductor, 18 AWG stranded tinned-copper multimedia cable featuring FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) insulation and an overall shield. FEP insulation provides superior heat resistance and low smoke output compared to standard PVC constructions, making this cable well-suited for environments where temperature stability and signal integrity are priorities. The overall shield reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI), preserving signal quality in demanding electronic and audio-visual installations. This cable is sold as a single unit (EA).
This cable is intended for multimedia, electronic signal, and low-voltage control wiring applications. Typical installation scenarios include commercial AV systems, building automation signal runs, and electronic equipment interconnects where FEP-rated, shielded cable is specified. It is appropriate for use in plenum or high-temperature routing paths where FEP-rated materials meet the required listing. Installers working on professional AV, data, or low-voltage control systems will commonly specify this cable type.
Designed as an OEM-style multimedia and electronic signal cable for use in low-voltage control, AV, and building automation wiring applications requiring shielded, FEP-insulated 2-conductor construction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or electrical contractor in accordance with applicable NEC articles governing signal and communication cables. De-energize all connected equipment before terminating or rerouting cables. Avoid sharp bends beyond the cable minimum bend radius and do not over-cinch cable ties, as either can degrade shield continuity and signal performance. Verify that the FEP insulation rating meets the requirements of the specific plenum or conduit path per the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
