The BELDEN INC. 633938 010U1000 is an RG-6/U plenum-rated coaxial cable finished in black. Designed for signal distribution in air-handling plenum spaces, this cable meets fire and smoke propagation requirements mandated for above-ceiling and HVAC plenum installations. It is used to carry broadband RF signals including cable television, satellite, and antenna feeds. The plenum jacket compound allows installation in air-return spaces where standard PVC-jacketed coax is not permitted by code. Electricians and low-voltage cabling technicians are the primary trades who specify and install this product in commercial and residential construction.
This RG-6/U plenum coaxial cable is suited for commercial office buildings, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and any structure where NEC Article 800 and Article 820 require CMP-rated plenum cabling. Typical applications include structured wiring for cable TV distribution, satellite dish feeds, antenna installations, and broadband data over coax runs routed through plenum ceiling spaces. The black jacket color is common in commercial environments where cable visibility or color-coding by zone is a factor.
Designed as an OEM-style plenum coaxial cable compatible with standard RG-6/U termination hardware including F-type, BNC, and compression connectors used in CATV, satellite, and antenna distribution systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified low-voltage technician in compliance with NEC Article 820 for community antenna television and radio distribution system cabling. Verify that all penetrations through fire-rated assemblies are properly firestopped per applicable building codes. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the cable minimum bend radius, and do not over-cinch cable ties, as either can degrade signal performance. De-energize any connected active equipment before terminating or splicing the cable.
