The BELDEN INC. 2412FS 010A1000 is a Cat6 Plus riser-rated (CMR) structured network cable designed for high-performance data installations in commercial and residential buildings. This 4-pair cable carries the CMR flame rating, making it suitable for vertical runs between floors in non-plenum riser spaces. The ribbed construction helps maintain consistent pair geometry, which supports reliable Gigabit and multi-Gigabit Ethernet performance. Network contractors, low-voltage technicians, and datacom installers use this cable for backbone and horizontal runs where CMR-rated media is required by code. The 1000-foot pull box format is standard for job-site installation.
This cable is suited for structured cabling projects in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and multi-family residential construction. It is installed in riser pathways, cable trays, and conduit runs that travel vertically through fire-rated floor assemblies. The CMR rating satisfies NEC Article 800 requirements for riser applications. Installers typically terminate the cable to Cat6 keystone jacks or patch panel ports using 110-style punch-down tools or field-termination connectors. It is not rated for plenum (CMP) air-handling spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style riser-rated Cat6 data cable for use with standard Cat6 patch panels, keystone jacks, and modular termination hardware in structured cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or datacom contractor in accordance with NEC Article 800 and applicable local codes. Do not install CMR-rated cable in plenum air-handling spaces; a CMP-rated cable is required for those environments. Avoid sharp bends exceeding the minimum bend radius and do not exceed the cable pull tension rating, as either condition can degrade pair geometry and signal performance. Terminate both ends to Cat6-rated hardware to maintain channel performance.
