The BELDEN INC. 1212F006A500 is a CAT 5e riser-rated unshielded twisted pair (UTP) ethernet cable in a light blue jacket, supplied on a 500-foot pull. It is designed for horizontal and vertical in-building runs where a CMR (riser) fire rating is required by code. The cable supports standard 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T network applications and is suited for structured cabling installations in commercial and residential buildings. Electricians and low-voltage cabling technicians are the primary installers for this product class.
This cable is used in premise network infrastructure runs between telecommunications rooms, equipment closets, and work-area outlets. Riser-rated jacket material meets the requirements for installation in vertical shaft and between-floor pathways where plenum-rated cable is not mandated. The 500-foot length is a standard pull quantity appropriate for larger structured cabling projects or multi-drop floor runs. It is not intended for outdoor, direct-burial, or plenum applications without substituting the appropriate cable type.
Designed as a standard CAT 5e riser-rated UTP cable compatible with RJ45 keystone jacks, patch panels, and connectors that meet TIA-568 termination specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or certified low-voltage cabling technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and local building codes. De-energize any adjacent circuits and verify pathway clearances before pulling cable through conduit or open riser pathways. Avoid sharp bends below the minimum bend radius and do not exceed the cable's pull tension rating during installation. This cable is rated for riser pathways only and must not be substituted in plenum air-handling spaces, which require CMP-rated cable per code.
