The armored construction shields the fiber bundle against crushing, rodent damage, and mechanical stress without sacrificing the low-loss transmission characteristics of singlemode glass. Plenum-rated jacketing meets smoke and flame standards required for air-handling spaces, making this cable suitable for runs through ceilings, raised floors, and HVAC plenums. Licensed low-voltage and data cabling contractors are the primary installers of this product.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage or communications cabling contractor in accordance with NEC Article 770 governing optical fiber cables. De-energize any adjacent electrical systems and follow all applicable fire-stopping requirements where the cable penetrates fire-rated assemblies. Minimum bend radius must be observed during pulling to avoid microbending losses in the singlemode fiber. Do not exceed the rated tensile load during installation pulls.
