The BD MANUFACTURING SPT664 is a reducing tee fitting designed for polyethylene or HDPE piping systems joined by socket fusion. It connects a 1-1/4 inch run on both the inlet and outlet with a 3/4 inch branch outlet, making it a practical solution for branching off a main supply line to a smaller service line. Built to SDR11 dimensional standards, this fitting delivers consistent wall thickness relative to outside diameter, supporting reliable pressure ratings in both pressure and non-pressure applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters handling water service, geothermal loop, or directional bore installations are the typical installers for this fitting.
This fitting is suited for underground water service, reclaimed water distribution, geothermal loop piping, and other applications where socket fusion-joined polyethylene pipe is specified. The socket fusion end connections on all three ports require a compatible fusion tool and proper heating time and insertion procedure to produce a leak-free, homogeneous joint. It is used in both residential and light commercial piping applications where a reducing branch connection is needed on SDR11 pipe.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for SDR11 polyethylene piping systems using socket fusion joining methods.
Socket fusion fittings must be installed by a plumber or pipefitter trained in thermoplastic fusion techniques. Before starting work, depressurize and drain the piping system completely. Use properly sized socket fusion tooling heated to the manufacturer-specified temperature, and follow published heating and insertion times for SDR11 pipe at the applicable diameter. Do not disturb the joint until the fusion cool-down period is complete.
