The BD MANUFACTURING SPC66 is a straight coupling fitting designed for joining polyethylene or HDPE piping systems using socket fusion connections. Rated to SDR11 wall thickness, this coupling accepts 1-1/4 inch pipe on both ends and is joined by heat-fusion tools that melt and bond the socket interfaces for a leak-free, monolithic connection. Licensed plumbers and pipe fusion technicians install this type of fitting in gas distribution, potable water, and industrial fluid conveyance systems where a permanent, pressure-capable joint is required.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial piping installations where socket fusion joining is specified. SDR11 construction supports higher pressure ratings relative to heavier SDR schedules, making it appropriate for natural gas service lines, water mains, and industrial process piping. Both end connections are identical at 1-1/4 inches, so it functions as a full-bore straight coupler with no reduction in flow path.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for SDR11 polyethylene piping systems using socket fusion joining methods at 1-1/4 inch nominal pipe size.
Socket fusion fittings are installed by licensed plumbers or certified pipe fusion technicians using manufacturer-approved socket fusion tools set to the correct temperature for the pipe material. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before cutting into any existing piping. Follow applicable codes including IFGC for gas piping and IPC for water service. Allow the fused joint to cool undisturbed for the full time specified by the fusion tool manufacturer before restoring pressure.
