The BARKSDALE MT1H-H251 is a remote mount temperature switch designed for industrial and commercial sensing applications where the switch body must be located away from the temperature source. It operates across a range of 50 to 250 degrees F using a 3/8-inch capillary stem in copper construction. The single set point SPDT contact form allows the switch to route a circuit on a rise or fall in temperature, making it suitable for control, alarm, or safety shutdown functions. Licensed HVAC technicians and industrial controls technicians are the primary installers. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of the mid-60 percent of full scale.
This temperature switch is used in applications where the sensing point and the control panel or switch enclosure are physically separated, such as duct-mounted sensing, pipe-mounted process control, or equipment protection circuits. The capillary design allows the sensing bulb to be placed at the measurement point while the switch body mounts remotely on a panel or bracket. It is suited for both commercial HVAC control loops and light industrial process temperature monitoring where a reliable mechanical SPDT output is required.

Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified industrial controls technician. De-energize the control circuit and lock out power before wiring or mounting the switch. Route the capillary carefully to avoid kinking, sharp bends, or contact with surfaces that could conduct unwanted heat to the sensing bulb. Follow applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage control wiring and verify set point calibration against the process requirements before returning the system to service.
