The BARE COPPER bare6solsd315r is a 6 AWG solid soft drawn annealed bare copper conductor supplied on a 315-foot reel. Bare copper wire in this configuration is used primarily for grounding applications in electrical, HVAC, and utility installations where an uninsulated conductor is required. The solid stranding and soft drawn annealing process give the wire good flexibility for a solid conductor while maintaining consistent conductivity. Rated at 125 amps, it is sized for service entrance grounding, equipment grounding electrodes, and bonding runs in both residential and commercial work.
This bare copper wire is appropriate for grounding electrode conductors, equipment bonding, lightning protection grounding, and similar applications where a continuous uninsulated copper run is required. The 315-foot reel length suits larger jobs such as commercial service work, multi-unit residential grounding systems, or utility installations. Electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers. The solid construction is well suited for direct burial or conduit runs where code permits bare copper grounding conductors.
Designed as a standard 6 AWG bare copper grounding conductor for use in grounding electrode systems, equipment bonding, and similar uninsulated conductor applications per applicable electrical codes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 250 and any applicable local codes governing grounding and bonding conductors. De-energize all circuits before making connections to grounding systems. Use properly rated mechanical lugs or irreversible compression connectors listed for bare copper conductors at 6 AWG. When routing through conduit or direct burial, verify that the installation method and burial depth meet local AHJ requirements.
