The BARE COPPER bare4str7sd200r is a 4 AWG bare copper grounding and bonding wire wound on a 200-foot spool. It is constructed from soft-drawn copper with a 7-strand configuration, giving it greater flexibility than solid conductors of the same gauge. The outer diameter measures 0.232 inches. This wire is used in grounding electrode systems, equipment bonding, and bare conductor applications where no insulation is required. It is typically installed by licensed electricians and experienced electrical contractors working on residential, commercial, or light industrial systems.
This 4 AWG 7-stranded bare copper wire is well suited for grounding electrode conductor runs, bonding jumpers, pool and spa bonding loops, lightning protection interconnects, and other applications requiring an uninsulated copper conductor. The soft-drawn temper keeps the wire pliable during routing through conduit or along structural members. The 200-foot spool length accommodates most single-run grounding and bonding jobs without a mid-run splice.
Designed as an uninsulated bare copper conductor for use in grounding, bonding, and bare-conductor electrical installations where 4 AWG soft-drawn stranded copper is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any connections. Use listed grounding clamps, lugs, or compression connectors rated for bare copper and the appropriate AWG. Avoid contact between bare copper and dissimilar metals without listed bimetallic connectors to prevent galvanic corrosion.
