The BARE COPPER bare1/0str7sdmr is a 1/0 AWG, 7-strand soft drawn bare copper conductor supplied on a 500-foot reel. Soft drawn stranding gives the wire flexibility for routing through conduit, trays, and enclosures where rigid solid conductors are impractical. Rated for 310 amps of continuous current capacity, this conductor is suited for high-ampacity grounding, bonding, and feeder applications in commercial and industrial electrical work. The 7-strand construction provides a good balance of flexibility and mechanical strength for field installation by licensed electricians.
This conductor is commonly used for equipment grounding, panel bonding, service entrance grounding, and bare feeder runs in conduit where an insulated jacket is not required by code. At 0.36 inches outer diameter, it fits standard conduit fill calculations for 1/0 AWG conductors. The 500-foot reel format is practical for larger commercial jobs, industrial facilities, and electrical contractors who need bulk quantities to minimize splice points and reduce material waste on long runs.
Designed as a standard bare 1/0 AWG stranded copper conductor suitable for grounding, bonding, and bare feeder applications in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems where bare copper is specified or permitted by the governing electrical code.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local amendments. De-energize all circuits and verify the absence of voltage before connecting or terminating conductors. Use appropriately rated lugs, compression connectors, or mechanical terminations listed for use with bare copper conductors of this size. Verify conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 tables when pulling multiple conductors through a single raceway.
