The BANDO AX88 is a classic cogged V-belt engineered for industrial and HVAC drive applications requiring reliable power transmission. Built from heat-resistant and oil-resistant rubber, this AX-section belt features a cogged underside that reduces bending resistance and improves flexibility around smaller-diameter sheaves. It measures 90 inches outside length, 0.5 inches wide, and 0.3125 inches thick, with a belt pitch of 89.3 inches. The cogged profile also dissipates heat more effectively than a standard smooth-bottom belt, extending service life under continuous-duty cycling. HVAC technicians, mechanical contractors, and equipment service professionals install this belt on belt-driven blowers, fans, compressors, and other rotating equipment where the AX section is specified.
The AX88 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, agricultural machinery, and general industrial drives. It is a direct-fit replacement wherever an AX-section belt with an 88-inch internal length or 90-inch outside length is called out by the equipment manufacturer. The cogged construction makes it particularly well suited for variable-speed or high-flex drive arrangements common in modern air-handling equipment.
Designed as a direct replacement for any AX-section V-belt with an 88-inch internal length or 90-inch outside length on equipment specifying the AX belt standard per ARPM dimensions.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC technician or mechanical contractor. Disconnect and lock out all power to the equipment before removing the old belt or accessing the drive assembly. Never pry a belt onto a sheave under tension; always release belt tension via the motor adjustment slide or idler before seating the new belt. After installation, verify proper belt tension and sheave alignment before restoring power, as misalignment accelerates belt and bearing wear.
