The BALAX 13465-000 is a thread forming tap designed for through-hole threading applications in metalworking and manufacturing. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps displace material rather than remove it, producing stronger threads with no chips to clear. This plug-style tap is manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish and carries a H5 thread limit, making it well-suited for producing 3/8-16 UNC right-hand internal threads in ductile materials. At 2.9375 inches overall length with a 0.9500-inch thread length, it fits standard tap holders used in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users.

This tap is used in through-hole applications where a clean, chipless thread form is required.
