The BALAX 13305-010 is a thread forming tap designed for blind hole threading in 5/16-24 UNF applications. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps cold-form internal threads by displacing material rather than cutting chips, producing stronger threads with a burnished finish. This tap is built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and features a bottoming chamfer of 1.5 threads, allowing it to form threads close to the bottom of a blind hole. With an H5 thread limit and Class 3B fit, it delivers tight, controlled thread geometry suited for precision fastener applications.
