The BALAX 12667-000 is a thread forming tap designed for right-hand, through-hole threading in ductile materials. It cuts no chips - instead, it cold-forms the thread profile by displacing material, producing a stronger thread form with tighter tolerances. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it is rated for 1/4-20 UNC threads at a 2B class of fit with an H7 thread limit. The plug chamfer geometry, with 4 chamfered threads, provides a balance of lead-in ease and threading depth suitable for most standard through-hole applications. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a tapping depth of 1.0 inch.

Installation Notes
