The BALAX 02400-000 is a thread forming pipe tap designed for cutting 3/8-18 NPT internal pipe threads in ductile materials. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps displace material rather than removing it, producing stronger threads with no chips to clear from the bore. The 02400-000 is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright finish and belongs to BALAX's BXPT series. It measures 2-9/16 inches in overall length with a 1-1/16 inch thread length, a 0.312 inch shank diameter, and a 0.531 inch square drive size.
