The BALAX 02300-000 is a thread forming pipe tap designed for cutting 1/4-18 NPT internal pipe threads in ductile materials. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps cold-form threads by displacing material rather than removing chips, producing stronger threads with a better surface finish and no chips to clear from the bore. Made from high speed steel with a bright finish, this tap is well suited for production and maintenance work in aluminum and copper.
