The BALAX 01202-010 is a thread forming tap designed for cutting M1.1x0.25 metric coarse internal threads in blind holes. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps displace material rather than remove chips, producing stronger threads with a burnished finish. This tap features a bottoming chamfer with 2.5 chamfered threads, allowing it to thread close to the bottom of a blind hole. It is manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish and carries a Thread Limit of H2. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tap in precision applications where small-diameter metric threads are required in ductile materials.
