The AY MCDONALD 4423-381 is a 3/4 inch PEX-A poly insert 90-degree elbow fitting used to make right-angle directional changes in PEX-A tubing runs. The insert design seats inside the PEX-A tube and is secured with a crimp ring or clamp ring, creating a reliable, leak-resistant joint. This fitting is made from engineered polymer, making it lightweight and resistant to corrosion. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial water supply systems where a clean 90-degree turn is needed without soldering or threading.
This elbow is suited for potable water distribution, radiant heating supply and return lines, and general hydronic piping where 3/4 inch PEX-A tubing is specified. It is commonly used in new construction and retrofit applications when routing tubing around framing, through walls, or into manifold systems. The poly construction makes it a preferred choice in applications where metal fittings may be subject to dezincification or corrosion concerns.
Designed as an OEM-style insert fitting for use with 3/4 inch PEX-A flexible tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines for PEX piping systems. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into any existing tubing. Use the appropriate PEX crimp or clamp tool sized for 3/4 inch fittings to secure the ring after the insert is fully seated. Do not over-drive the crimp ring or attempt to reuse a ring that has already been set.
