Axis Communications 03063-004 Fiber Aggregation Switch

Product Description

The AXIS COMMUNICATIONS 03063-004 is a fiber aggregation switch designed to consolidate and manage high-bandwidth network traffic in IP-based surveillance and security installations. It serves as a core network backbone component, aggregating connections from edge devices such as IP cameras, access controllers, and intercoms into a unified, high-throughput network infrastructure. Licensed network technicians and security system integrators are the primary installers of this equipment in both commercial and enterprise environments.

This fiber aggregation switch is suited for deployments where reliable, high-capacity data transmission is required across multiple network segments. It is commonly installed in structured cabling environments within commercial buildings, campuses, and facilities where Axis network devices are centrally managed. The D8308 designation indicates placement in the Axis network switch product line, targeting professional AV and IP security integrations.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed network technician or qualified systems integrator familiar with fiber optic cabling and managed switch configuration. Power down or de-energize the relevant network segments before making fiber or copper connections to the switch. Follow applicable structured cabling standards and local codes when routing fiber runs and securing equipment in rack enclosures. Consult the manufacturer datasheet for port configuration, SFP module compatibility, and management interface details before commissioning.
