The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 18308 is a push mount blind rivet designed for tool-free panel fastening in HVAC, electrical, and general trade applications. It features a flat head profile with an all-nylon body and nylon mandrel, making it suitable for lightweight panel attachment where corrosion resistance and non-conductive properties matter. The head diameter measures 3/4 inches and the rivet accepts a maximum hole diameter of 1/4 inches. With a length under head of 1-1/8 inches and a grip range of 5.60 mm to 8.50 mm, this rivet seats securely across a range of material thicknesses with simple hand pressure.
This push mount rivet is used wherever a quick, no-tool fastening solution is needed. Common applications include securing wire harness clips, duct panel covers, access panels, and plastic trim in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and automotive-style assemblies. The nylon construction makes it compatible with thin-gauge sheet metal, plastic housings, and fiberglass panels where metal fasteners could cause galvanic corrosion or unwanted conductivity. Technicians working in confined spaces benefit from the push-to-install design, which eliminates the need for a rivet tool or wrench.
Designed for use in pre-drilled or punched 1/4 inch holes in sheet metal, plastic, or composite panels typical of HVAC equipment housings, electrical enclosures, and related trade installations.
Installation requires no special tools - align the rivet body with the 1/4 inch hole and apply firm hand pressure until the rivet seats and the head is flush with the panel surface. Power down any electrical enclosure or HVAC unit before servicing panels or securing wiring components. Inspect the hole diameter before installation to confirm it falls within the specified 1/4 inch maximum to ensure a secure fit. Do not exceed the stated grip range, as over-compression may cause the nylon body to fracture.
