The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 16042 is a No. 10 hex washer head sheet metal screw designed for secure fastening in light-gauge metal applications. It features a Tek self-drilling point that eliminates the need for a pilot hole in thin sheet metal, and a hex washer head that distributes clamping load across a wider bearing surface. The screw measures 0.5 inches in length under head and is manufactured from steel for durability in typical HVAC, electrical, and general sheet metal assembly work. This fastener is sold in lots with a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.
This screw is commonly used by HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, and electricians for securing duct panels, equipment enclosures, junction boxes, and light sheet metal assemblies. The hex drive accepts a standard nut driver or hex bit, which is the preferred tool in HVAC and duct fabrication for fast, one-handed fastening. Its short 0.5-inch length makes it well suited for thin-gauge material where a longer fastener would bottom out or strip.
Designed as a standard No. 10 Tek-point hex washer head sheet metal screw for use in light-gauge steel duct work, equipment panels, and electrical enclosures where a self-drilling fastener is required.
Installation is performed with a hex bit driver or nut driver sized for a No. 10 hex washer head screw. De-energize all electrical equipment and shut down HVAC systems before fastening near live components or pressurized ductwork. Do not overdrive - the hex washer head can strip thin gauge material if excessive torque is applied. Follow applicable local mechanical and electrical codes when securing duct assemblies or enclosures.
