The ATLONA INC. AT-HDR-CAT-4 is an HDBaseT distribution amplifier designed to extend and distribute 4K HDR video signals over CAT-type structured cabling. It supports HDMI 2.0b input and HDBaseT output, making it suitable for installations where high-bandwidth video must be delivered from a single source to multiple display locations. The unit handles High Dynamic Range content, preserving image quality across the signal chain. AV integrators and low-voltage technicians typically deploy this type of device in commercial and residential AV distribution systems where long cable runs and multi-zone display are required.
The AT-HDR-CAT-4 fits residential and light commercial AV distribution applications. It is used where a single 4K HDR HDMI source must be split and extended to remote displays over CAT5e or CAT6 cabling rather than running long HDMI cable drops. Typical install scenarios include conference rooms, digital signage systems, hotel AV infrastructure, and whole-home video distribution. Compatible HDBaseT receivers are required at each display endpoint to convert the signal back to HDMI.
Designed as an OEM-style distribution amplifier for HDBaseT AV systems requiring 4K HDR HDMI 2.0b signal extension over structured CAT cabling. Compatible HDBaseT receivers are required at remote display endpoints.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or certified AV integrator. Power down all source devices and displays before making signal connections. CAT5e or CAT6 cabling should be run and terminated according to TIA-568 standards for reliable HDBaseT performance. Do not exceed the maximum cable run length specified by HDBaseT Alliance standards for the resolution and data rate in use.
