The ATLANTIC WATERGARDENS 74222 is a full-flow swing-style check valve engineered specifically for water feature and pond skimmer installations. It mounts directly to the pump inside a pond skimmer to maintain water level in the biological filter and keep beneficial bacteria hydrated between pump cycles. The valve body is grey PVC and measures 5.625 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by 10 inches high. Single unions above and below the valve allow rapid removal of both the valve and the pump for servicing, maintenance, or winterization without disturbing the surrounding plumbing. A replaceable gasket simplifies long-term upkeep. Licensed pond and water feature installers are the primary trade for this fitting.
The 74222 is designed for residential and light commercial pond, water feature, and biological filter systems where a dedicated check valve position in the skimmer vault is required. It is compatible with all 1.5 inch and 2 inch discharge Atlantic TidalWave pumps and Atlantic equipment. Included adapters accommodate multiple pump, skimmer, vault, and plumbing configurations. The discharge extension addresses taller Atlantic equipment installations. Maximum assembled height reaches 23 inches from the pump discharge to the center of the outlet pipe, and that height can be extended to any length using 2 inch Schedule 40 pipe and standard fittings.
The 74222 is compatible with all 1.5 inch and 2 inch discharge Atlantic TidalWave pumps and Atlantic equipment. The inlet accepts 1.5 inch or 2 inch MIPT connections and the outlet accepts 1.5 inch or 2 inch socket connections. Included adapters accommodate multiple Atlantic pump, skimmer, vault, and plumbing configurations.
Installation is performed by pond and water feature technicians or licensed plumbers following local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and unplug the pump before removing or installing the valve assembly. Use the union connections to isolate the valve from the surrounding plumbing rather than cutting into the pipe. Do not exceed the 2 inch Schedule 40 pipe and fittings specification when extending the maximum assembled height beyond 23 inches.
