The ATCO RUBBER PRODUCTS 13602520 is a 20-inch diameter, 25-foot flexible air duct rated R6 for residential and light commercial HVAC distribution systems. The duct features a smooth polyester inner core that reduces friction loss and keeps operating costs low. An encapsulated steel wire helix holds its shape when cut to length, preventing unraveling during installation. A thick blanket of fiberglass insulation delivers the R6 thermal performance required by most current energy codes. The silver outer jacket is constructed from plastic and polyester, providing a durable, airtight enclosure. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this duct to connect supply plenums and branch runs in forced-air systems.
This flexible duct is suited for supply-side air distribution in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems as well as light commercial applications. The 20-inch diameter accommodates high-volume trunk runs with a rated maximum airflow of 5000 CFM. Its round cross-section and smooth inner surface maintain low static pressure drop across long runs. The R6 insulation value meets or exceeds requirements in most climate zones under current energy codes. It is compatible with standard round sheet metal fittings and collars used in conventional ducted HVAC installations.
Designed as an OEM-style flexible duct replacement or new-installation component for 20-inch round ducted forced-air HVAC systems using standard sheet metal collars, take-offs, and end fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with SMACNA flexible duct installation guidelines and local mechanical codes. Shut down and de-energize the air handling unit before cutting or connecting duct sections. Secure both ends with approved metal bands or clamps and listed duct tape rated for flexible duct; do not use standard cloth tape. Avoid sharp bends and excessive compression of the duct body, as both conditions significantly increase static pressure drop and reduce system efficiency.
