The ATCO RUBBER PRODUCTS 13102520 is a 20-inch diameter, 25-foot insulated flexible air duct rated R8, designed for low-to-medium pressure HVAC distribution systems. The inner core is constructed from a double-lamination of polyester film encapsulating a steel wire helix, forming an air-tight passage built to handle airflow up to 5000 feet per minute. Multiple layers of fiberglass insulation surround the core, and a tri-directional fiberglass scrim reinforced metallized polyester outer jacket provides a rugged, moisture-resistant finish. This duct is UL 181, Class 1 listed and complies with NFPA 90A and 90B, IMC, IRC, and UMC standards. Licensed HVAC contractors install this product in residential and light commercial forced-air systems where high thermal efficiency and code compliance are required.
This flex duct is suited for supply-side air distribution in residential and commercial HVAC applications where large-diameter runs are needed, such as main trunk branch connections or high-volume zone feeds. The 20-inch inside diameter accommodates significant airflow demand. Its R8 insulation rating makes it appropriate for unconditioned spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and mechanical rooms where thermal loss must be minimized. Approvals include acceptance by the cities of Chicago, New York, and San Francisco, the County of Dade in Florida, and HUD, making it a strong choice for projects requiring multi-jurisdictional compliance.
UL 181 Class 1 listed and compliant with NFPA 90A and 90B, IMC, IRC, UMC, and ICC ES Report No. ESR-1268. Accepted for use in jurisdictions including the cities of Chicago, New York, and San Francisco, the County of Dade in Florida, and HUD-regulated construction. Designed as a large-diameter insulated flex duct for residential and commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC contractor in accordance with applicable mechanical codes including IMC, IRC, and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before making duct connections. Secure duct ends with approved draw bands and mastic or UL 181B-listed tape — do not use standard cloth duct tape. Avoid sharp bends that exceed the manufacturer's minimum bend radius, as excessive kinking reduces airflow and can compromise the inner core.
