The ATCO RUBBER PRODUCTS 010-R4.2_10X5FT is a foil-faced, fiberglass insulated pipe sleeve rated at R4.2, designed for insulating round duct and pipe runs in indoor HVAC applications. The sleeve combines a thick fiberglass insulation blanket with a reinforced metalized polyester vapor barrier jacket to control condensation and limit thermal loss. Each section measures 10 inches in diameter and 5 feet in length, arriving flat for straightforward field installation. Rated for temperatures from -20 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this sleeve meets UL 181B standards. A starter cap is included. HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors install this product on ductwork and pipe in residential and light commercial systems.
This sleeve is suited for indoor HVAC system applications where pre-cut insulation sections reduce jobsite and in-shop cutting time. The 5-foot length eliminates the need to cut from bulk roll material, lowering labor cost compared to standard duct wrap application. The flat-pack format stores and transports efficiently. Its reinforced metalized vapor barrier jacket provides a durable outer surface that resists moisture intrusion, making it appropriate for supply air duct and pipe runs in conditioned and semi-conditioned spaces such as mechanical rooms, attics with climate control, and in-wall or in-ceiling chases.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit insulation sleeve for 10-inch round duct and pipe in indoor HVAC systems meeting UL 181B applicable standards.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or mechanical contractors in accordance with local mechanical codes and SMACNA guidelines. Power down and lock out the HVAC system before working on any duct or pipe section. Wrap the sleeve snugly around the pipe or duct, seal all seams and joints with UL 181B-rated foil tape, and use the included starter cap to terminate open ends. Do not compress the fiberglass insulation layer during installation, as compression reduces the effective R-value.
