The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 205-516 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and precision tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers a strong duty rating and a free length of approximately 4 inches (102 millimeters). It is color-coded red per ISO 10243 standards, which identifies it as a strong-duty spring within a standardized color classification system. This part is installed by toolmakers, die maintenance technicians, and machine shop professionals who require consistent load performance and repeatable deflection characteristics over extended service cycles.
This die spring is suited for installation in standard die sets, mold bases, and tooling fixtures where a 25-millimeter hole diameter and a 12.5-millimeter rod diameter are specified. The spring accommodates up to 31 millimeters of travel to solid load, making it appropriate for applications requiring controlled, high-force compression strokes. It is commonly found in both OEM and replacement tooling configurations in metal stamping, forming, and injection mold applications across manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant strong-duty die spring for use in standard tooling applications requiring a 25-millimeter hole diameter and a 12.5-millimeter guide rod diameter.
Die springs are installed and serviced by qualified toolmakers or die maintenance technicians. Before servicing any press or die set, the machine must be locked out and tagged out in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the hole and rod diameters of the die set match the spring specifications before installation. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated travel to solid load, as over-compression will permanently damage the spring and reduce service life.
