The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 205-514 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers a higher load capacity per unit volume compared to round-wire springs of equivalent size. With a free length of 3.5 inches (89 mm), a rod diameter of 12.5 mm, and a hole diameter of 25 mm, this red-coded spring falls in the heavy-load range per ISO 10243 classification. It is manufactured from chromium alloy steel for durability under repeated cycling in high-stress tooling environments. Licensed die makers, tool and die technicians, and industrial maintenance personnel are the primary installers.
This spring is suited for use in progressive dies, forming dies, injection mold assemblies, and general industrial press tooling where consistent load and controlled deflection are required. The red color coding indicates a heavy-load rating under ISO 10243 standards, helping technicians quickly identify load class during die setup and maintenance. Maximum deflection is 27 mm with a maximum deflection load of 2268 N and a spring rate of 479.65 N/mm. It is appropriate for both OEM tooling builds and replacement applications in existing die sets.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or OEM-style die spring for tooling applications requiring a 25 mm hole diameter, 12.5 mm rod diameter, and 89 mm free length in the heavy-load (red) ISO 10243 class.
Die springs should be installed and replaced by qualified tool and die technicians or industrial maintenance personnel familiar with press tooling safety procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Inspect the spring pocket, rod, and retaining hardware for wear or damage before installing a replacement spring. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 27 mm, as exceeding travel-to-solid limits accelerates fatigue failure.
