The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 205-407 is a red-coded die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch press tooling, and precision mold applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that increases load-bearing surface area compared to round-wire springs, resulting in higher load capacity within a compact envelope. With a free length of 1.75 inches (44.00 mm) and a spring rate of 639.54 N/mm, this spring is engineered for consistent, repeatable performance under cyclic compressive loads. Chromium alloy steel construction provides high fatigue resistance. Installation and replacement are performed by tool and die makers, mold technicians, and machine maintenance personnel.
This die spring is sized for a 20.00 mm hole diameter and a 10.00 mm rod diameter, placing it in a standard ISO 10243 medium-load class. The red color coding identifies the load category for fast visual identification during die setup and maintenance. It is suited for use in progressive dies, injection mold stripper plates, nitrogen-free die applications, and any press tooling requiring a compact, high-cycle compression spring. Maximum deflection is 13.00 mm with a travel-to-solid load of 1456.00 N, making it appropriate for medium-duty cyclic applications.
Designed as an ISO 10243 compliant die spring for standard 20.00 mm pocket and 10.00 mm rod tooling configurations in stamping dies, progressive dies, and injection mold assemblies.
Die spring replacement is performed by qualified tool and die technicians with the press or mold fully de-energized and at zero pressure. Springs should be installed with the rod and pocket dimensions verified against the 10.00 mm rod diameter and 20.00 mm hole diameter specifications before seating. Do not compress the spring beyond its maximum deflection of 13.00 mm, as solid-height contact will rapidly reduce fatigue life. Inspect the spring seat and pocket for burrs or misalignment before installation to ensure concentric loading.
